please welcome a new member to the mojuba label family, sirko müller. to some of you sirko might not be so unknown, because hes in the game since the mid 90s and is one of the founding members of the label tokomak records, which was also founded by mojuba head honcho don williams back in the days, and he recorded also tracks for pure plastic sublabel rewired, styrax and milnor modern. after a long hiatus sirko is now ready for some new action, so to reintroduce him to you we decided to put out some of his classic tracks as well as some unreleased bits! its quite hard to believe that these tracks are from about a decade ago, because they are still sounding fresh but also capture that little dirt and roughness which still remembers to the early years of clubbing!

dj roc, known to his mother as clarence johnson, was born and raised on the southside of chicago better known as the low end. the crack in >crack capone< refers to his style of production. like an underground chemist, dj roc produces variant strains of chicago juke music, the crack referring to the synapse snapping, potentially ankle cracking manipulation of rhythms and the sampling, hijacking and ultra-rhythmic micro-editing of black american pops dominant forms into a style thats been developed and tested on the streets of chicago.

lol is a bit of an unusual project, its just a thing in its own right, its not for anything or anyone in particular, its just an lp made by three bored people who like music that sounds like it did before the advent of the internet. the project was recorded in the bedroom of a warehouse conversion in hackney wick (bedrooms can be incredibly creative spaces, seeing as most of us were conceived in one). they wrote about self-obsession, social anxiety, drug abuse, and failed relationships using pre-21st century recording devices such as vhs tape, 70s valve microphones, analogue synths, cheap argos catalogue guitars, and 80s drum machines.

>mr nice< features snippets of howard marks which are interlaced with clattering breakbeats and booming sub bass. while we are sure howard would approve of a late night after party session, for many this will be the soundtrack to what happens before they leave the club! label boss steppa and his co-producer kitcha provide an excellent aa side which harks back to the classic formation records era. splicing in cheeky samples lifted from anthems of old and twisting them into something brand new, this one is just as fearsome on the dancefloor.

from the guys behind goodgroove & streetwise music comes a new blog, website and vinyl only label that will be focusing on the new recently emerging ghetto funk sound thats taking the mid-tempo breaks scene by storm. the first release comes from featurecast who is one of the biggest names in the biz and contains four absolute bangers that will no doubt destroy dancefloors wherever they are dropped. all tracks are remakes of classic anthems and have given the ghetto funk treatment with massive beats and huge wobbly basslines that will send both the kids and the more mature ravers into hedonistic oblivion. a very impressive debut from the label and a perfect snapshot of what this scene is all about.

it would be a complete mistake for any house imprint not to include a us talent in his catalog, this wont be the case for apersonal music. on its third effort the label takes his first journey to the grounds of american house. from arizona, michael j collins with remix rework from bostons house-sons soul clap, plus the first collaboration for apersonal from maurice aymard. a side single nothing wrong with holding on show us the most eclectic side of the label so far. looped vocals, broken house with a saxo on top. michaels talent goes beyond genres mixing elements from different styles to create this great piece of music. soul clap delivers, as usual, top stuff! in their remix they speed up the bpm and add a hip-breaker bassline taking the original track to the dancefloor war zone. second remix from maurice aymard, himself at the controls plus venezuelan producer garnica hitting the drums, they take the track to a trippy slowmo version, what maurices catalogs as his best remix so far.

holmby hills two smooth n ruff house tracks and two hip hop-jazz encores turn this record into a testimony for the state of mind of formresonance. when soul is melted together into an off the grid house track, it is not that far-fetched that both men have shared their music ever since tapes existed. engin oeztuerk, one half of here today, which came out on philpot and buzzin fly and block barley (who already has released two albums on hong kong records and we aint music) are both tinkering in search of music to dance to. they wickedly transform their musical masters ideas into something extraordinary sounding. an off-the-grid team

mitzi are a 4 piece of awesomeness made up of dominiqe bird, jad lee, charlie murdoch and cale suesskow. they all hail from australias most laidback and sunny city brisbane. some people call it brisvegas because its sexy too. after playing in various killer bands such as bmx (2009 unearthed parklife winners), comic sans (2010 unearthed st jeromes laneway festival winners), charlie why! (recent bang gang 12 inches signing) and the gallery kiss all the dudes have united to create some genuinely exciting australian music. the three tunes on >all i heard< fuse the sounds of garage disco, nyc indie and the light heartedness of australian pop. jono ma (lost valentinos, tracy thorn, teenagers in tokyo) mixed the record at ewan pearsons studio in berlin and made all those trumpets, snares, keys, whispers and vocals sound ridiculously tight. future classics history has always been rooted in bands and were pretty stocked to be getting back into it. plus its our 50th release!

christoph abele aka catekk is very young but an adept. for years not only resident-dj of the legendary club flex in vienna but also live-act, sound engineer and together with christopher groove a promising producer-duo. even though catekk and groove have only been working together since 2010, they already produced for scene-headliners such as felix da housecat or marco bailey. however, catekk not only produces thrilling pieces for the just named heroes - his own releases can be found in countless vinyl bags and dj-charts. now the label houztekk records is releasing a long hidden jewel from catekks live-repertoire.

fresh 2010 repressed ...played by stephan bodzin, loco dice, troy pierce, oliver huntemann, oxia. after several strong single releases of the voltage musique stars now the guys have combined their super powers and sparks are literally flying. in line with the motto -les amies- they share the results with their best friends and unleash it into the clubs at the best party time of the year. four tracks, four facets, four sure shots. the floors are pre-heated - bring winter on.

earlier this year they got together at martins studio in derby to create this classic deep house number. the parts were then taken to their respective studios to create their own versions. freds mix has a more straight forward vibe to it while martin takes things to the deep end, adding dub elements to the mix.

tom trago and awanto3 (aka steven de peven, one half of rednose distrikt) team up for a new project they call alfabet. this series is all about warm and dusty house music. it will run for 13 two track singles, totaling 26 tracks. each track representing a letter. >roundabout< is a percussive work out that that builds up and sucks you in. >lap the music< does the some thing only this makes use of an addictive vocal sample. you cant get enough of these two!

signals is the label from the guys behind the newcastle based club night road to rimini in the uk and for their first pressing they present uk duo the one. the one are drummer joe ryan and vocalist emeson nwolie. for this, their debut 12inch, they offer two sublime cuts that give delicate nods to the vocal chicago house of fingers inc and the 80s soul of alexander o neal, jam & lewis and the s.o.s band. remix comes courtesy of den haags finest, legowelt (aka danny wolfers) who provides a deep chicago, smacked out version of the title track. an edition of 200 hand numbered, 12inch black vinyl with limited a3 artwork insert.

mzo bullets track >casablanca< has become a sought after underground classic over the last 18 months, so when it landed here as part of our township funk compilation album we thought we would do it justice and give it a full vinyl release. as our friends hot city were jumping around to it when they heard it, we decided to let them loose on the remix. already picking up plays from benji b over at radio 1 plus dj support from the likes of diplo, kissy sellout, doorly and andy george.

footandmouths forth release sees the return of the prodigal sons s.a.s. after the success of fam001 they are back with another hot slice of vintage house pie! the a side is a great little vintage house rework, complete with great keyboard stabs, driving bass and ace vocal, tweaked for perfect peak time performance. a2 is a superb mid-tempo electro dub of the vocal…blinding! the flip features dreaming and were hit boogie territory with some aplomb! a serious 80s groove underpins soulful vocal and electro beats. the dub then hikes the tempo and jacks the groove into ny dub underground! great package from the s.a.s mystery men!

the 12th release on uzuri sees contributions from turin, chicago , amsterdam & dublin. the opener sees morphine & kinda souls ksoul teaming up with new production partner muteoscillattor. >take 1< kicks things off in fine fashion, proper rough, raw and intense jacking house that is completed by the heavy heavy bassline. brilliant!
chicago skyway returns to uzuri with >resolution m<. nodding to the likes of larry heard, armando and virgo, the chitown resident puts his analog machines to work & delivers an elegant & funky number.
the bside kicks off with juju & jordashs >killing raul with acid<, an epic, tension laden full on acidic outing from the amsterdam duo, fresh from their ace tattoos island ep on philpot.
the ep is finished off with a track from dublins slowburn. they debut with >meteor<, a deep as you like slow burner. lovely kicks, languid keys. a promising start from ireland!

horse feathers has been on the road for the majority of 2010 following the april release of their third full-length, >thistled spring<. they closed their record release show in their hometown of portland, or with a cover of nirvanas >drain you< so powerful that the whole town was still talking about it days later! krs made them jump into the studio between tours to commit this phenomenon to vinyl, and the result is this 7 inch: >drain you< on the a side and a new original, >bonnet of briars<, on the b side.

first on decks .de !!! sa007 sees perc and modern heads create the first collaborations between these two core stroboscopic artefacts artists. the result is a punishing hybrid of percs dubstep tendencies and modern heads cutting techno. a-side >mendax< is cavernous. built upon solid dub foundations, it spills over into grinding, metallic territory. if the titles to be believed it takes inspiration from the shady world of lies and deceit. the atmosphere seems to agree, theres certainly something mendacious at work here. b1 takes the eps atmosphere and adds abrasion. in >percdax< cold, hard percussion is layered over a bed of warm dub. closer >moddax< errs on the eerie. it skulks, is full of sticky bleeps and the result is unnervingly dubbed out. all three track titles share the same suffix and if this indicates that they also share one quality its that theyre best heard in the glinting shadows of a club just before day break. sa007 was craftily mastered by artefacts mastering, berlin.

wit recordings is building up a great reputation when it comes to minimal techno. after collaborations with agaric, francisco allendes (aka monomachine), pig & dan, staffan linzatti and someone else it is now time for a new true winner with a real comeback ep from twinphonic aka stephan & vincent de wit (audio assault, planet rhythm, patterns, and zwart recordings) they lay down a masterpiece of sophisticated minimal and tasty techno which makes a crossover between their minimal and pounding techno-sounds.

he is one of the most productive creative minds of this time segment and while constantly releasing a great amount of tracks, his music does not sound like the work of a mechanic following a certain formula. boris force roots from a unique style that has a focus on diversity and still you recognize his hand-writing while listening to his tricky arrangements and breaks that are different as they can be.

hotel motel is the brand new dance music project from bill brewster of dj history/low life fame and alex tepper. heavily soaked in old school vibes, while plugged right into contemporary developments in the underground house music scene, hotel motel make excellent home tapers! for their first release on the imprint they work an absolutely killer house groove around a raw old school sample to produce the totally wicked >eye no<. this cut has classic grooves written all over it. simple, but 100% effective. it defines exactly what home taping is all about. on the flip, the burnt island casuals (aka the revenge and legendary sub club resident dj harri) throw all of their joint experience and love of house music at the original, bounce it off the studio walls and rework it into a warehouse bomb that will have you licking the walls for more. 100% house music with bits. play it all night long!!

after five years of experimenting with a string of different singers, chromatics introduced ruth radelet as the lead actress to star in their films in 2005. forever standing out from the crowd, chromatics imagined the soft rock focus of hall & oates stretched over a fleetwood mac beat. trading the dancefloor for gorgeous chords & melancholic strings. they lived where it was always late & neon lights glimmered across the wet streets. this record archives studio work between 2004 & 2006 leading up to the now infamous >night drive< album.

two deputies of love from berlin set out for defending love. the deputies of love release now their second ep! this time the mysterious deputies present a funky remix of the whitest boy alives wonderfull 1517. on the flip side they take us on a time travel back in the 70ies. a nice remix of the theme song from the all time favourite us movie and tv-series m*a*s*h!!
